McDonald Theatre -- Eugene
The benefit, produced by area musicians and people working in concert production, is for Dana Heitman, who has experienced serious medical complications recently.
Dana, who plays trumpet, wrote most (if not all) of the horn parts for the Cherry Poppin' Daddies as a veteran member of the Daddies since the bands inception. Dana has also been a long time member of Satin Love Orchestra, the band director for The Essentials, as well as a member of many different bands in the region for almost 30 years.
The Cherry Poppin' Daddies
"The past isn't finished with us yet. Love can be like that, too. A couple of years ago I found love in different forms leaving my life at once. In a single month I lost my closest group of friends, my 13-year relationship ended, and my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I had just stopped touring to write the next Blind Pilot album, but instead I was watching each of my plans unthread as a new season pulled forward relentlessly.
